Compliance and Best Practices
For Canadian HR professionals, policy managers, consultants, business owners and non-profit executives
Employment law is undergoing constant change and it’s more important than ever for employers to have HR policies and procedures and to keep them up to date. When there is a claim, the courts are carefully reviewing HR policies to determine if management has met their duty of care. This is a key factor in deciding if the employer acted reasonably, has a defence or is liable.
But policies have benefits far beyond minimizing risk.
Strong policies and procedures are fundamental to the success of any organization.
When you have a written HR policy and procedure manual that meets current legal and best practice requirements for your province, you save time, improve productivity and minimize liability so you can focus on the more important things: strategic planning, supporting business growth, building workplace culture, making sure you have the best people in the right roles, and all the other essential tasks HR does.
