Good Friday, Easter and Passover in 2021
Good Friday and Easter Sunday coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover in 2021. Easter and the holidays that are related to it are moveable feasts in that they do not fall on a fixed date in the Gregorian or Julian calendars which follow only the cycle of the sun; rather, their dates are determined on a lunisolar calendar similar to the Hebrew calendar.

Family Day off with pay 2021
Family Day, Monday, February 15, 2021, is celebrated in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick. Family Day (it may have a different name depending on the jurisdiction) is recognized as a public (statutory) holiday in these provinces and employees get the day off with pay, if eligible.

Remembrance Day public holiday, poppy and pandemic issues
Remembrance Day falls on Wednesday, November 11 in 2020. Although Remembrance Day was declared a legal holiday like Canada Day and Victoria Day under the federal Holidays Act on March 1, 2018, provinces and territories determine which days are public holidays in their regions. Therefore, Remembrance Day is not a public holiday in all Canadian jurisdictions.
