Meeting corporate social responsibility

Made for Canadian Operations and Marketing Professionals

Using resources effectively and meeting established standards are essential for any organization’s business strategy. Meeting corporate social responsibility and standards such as ISO 9001 on quality management systems, the ISO 14000 family of standards on environmental management or the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission’s Internal Control-Integrated Framework (2013) (COSO), gives an organization the confidence that it is meeting compliance obligations and following best practices to reduce costs and waste, improve the quality of products and services, improve delivery times, and protect the environment.

Written operations and marketing policies and procedures are essential to meeting established standards.

Internal controls implemented with policies and procedures are essential to improve processes in these operational areas:

Design and development of products and services
Storage and delivery
Manufacturing
Environmental management
Sales and marketing
Service
Document and data control
Non-conforming products and services

Increasingly, directors, regulators, investors, banks, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders are looking for organizations to act with greater integrity at all stages and in all areas of their operations. In addition, there are laws and regulations governing operations and marketing, for example, environmental protection and anti-spam measures.

Consider these benefits:

Support overall business strategy
Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
Minimize risk
Meet legal and regulatory requirements

PolicyPro® is the leading source for up-to-date model policies and commentary based on Canadian compliance and best practice.
